The TAIM ExchangeSan Francisco 49ers will be without star wide receiver Deebo Samuel for their Monday night matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.

The team posted an injury report on Saturday that declared Samuel out due to a hairline fracture on his shoulder. The former South Carolina standout will miss this week's road game and at least the Week 8 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals before San Francisco has its bye week.

"It's always different (without Samuel). What we did last week, we weren't sure of him throughout the week, so we had contingency plans," head coach Kyle Shanahan said in a statement. "He's been banged up a few weeks before that too, so this will give him a chance to settle down, and hopefully, come back 100 percent (out of the bye)."

Samuel was among a handful of players who were injured in the 49ers' first loss of the season, 19-17 to the Cleveland Browns. Through six games, the All-Pro receiver has 20 receptions for 302 yards with one touchdown.

Running back Christian McCaffrey is questionable with an oblique injury and left tackle Trent Williams is doubtful with an ankle injury. McCaffrey had a receiving touchdown in the loss to the Browns, bringing his streak of consecutive games with a score to 15. On Saturday, he participated in his first practice since suffering the injury.
